Surgery Account from a Patient

Howdy!

My name is Michael McInnis. I had a fair amount of gum recession on my front teeth, both upper and lower. I have been concerned that should it get much worse I could lose my teeth. I've been told it is a result of genetics and orthodontics. Four years ago I had surgery on the gums around my lower front teeth. The surgeon told me all he could do was reenforce the gums and protect the teeth. Reversing the recession was not possible.

Then I met Dr. Nordland. He told me he could restore my gums. I don't know why the other fellow didn't know about this procedure. So, I scheduled the procedure to restore my upper gums.

The procedure was no big deal, at least for me. I understand that Dr. Nordland was a little busy. I took a pill, got comfortable in the chair, and the next thing I knew I was on the 5 on my way home. It took place on a Friday...I wanted time to recover. The thing was, there was nothing from which to recover. Were it not for the surgical packing and the device covering the roof of my mouth, I would not have known I had the operation. There was no pain. None. As in I felt fine. After the first operation four years ago, I was prepared for some discomfort. Never happened.

Sunday morning Dr. Nordland called to check up on me. That's right, a doctor called me on a Sunday morning to see how things were going. Let that sink in for a while, then continue reading.

There are some things you are told to do and some things you are told to avoid doing after the operation. Do what you are told. This is very important to your recovery, so i'll say it again. Do what you are told. We are only talking about four to six weeks, and the quality of your results depends upon your compliance, so do what you are told. Now, what are you supposed to do? Enough said.

I did what I was told, and the results are amazing. My biggest problem is convincing people I had the procedure. Folks look at my gums to see the repair, and ask the same question...what did you have fixed? This is the most unbelievable thing I have ever seen. My gums are back. They look like they did when I was a kid. They are symmetric in both shape and color. My teeth are protected AND I have my smile back. How cool is that?

I have decided that Dr. Nordland is not a surgeon. He is an artist. An artist with phenomenal talent. Considering that we are talking about our smiles, this is a very good thing. He's also a great guy. Talented, friendly, and he is very successful. Go figure. His staff is top notch, too. Very fine people. You look forward to seeing them every visit.

If you have a problem with your mouth that requires surgery, go see Dr. Nordland. If he says he can help you, believe him. If you care about your mouth, use him. I enthusiastically encourage you to let the good doctor help you. I am so happy with my results that I would go through the procedure again. Actually, I will. I am having my lower teeth straightened, and then it is back to Dr. Nordland to correct the recession on the bottom. How's that for an endorsement?

Many thanks,
Michael McInnis
